OBC Boot Camp: “Guts and Guns” Went back today and had some help with the foam roller. Did pretty well, but was limited to alternate exercises that included any thing that required back work. Back is hurting a bit, but I’ve iced for 30 mins. Will do some stretching and foam rolling through out the day. Happy to get back at it.

Rained all day, so the pups had to stay inside.

FDR State Park

 

Hiking at F.R. Roosevelt State Park – 3:23, 4.79 miles. Beautiful day for being outside. Trails were beautiful. Stuggled with back pain but it seemed to ease up about half way through the hike.

No boot camp today (off day)

Tough day for me emotionally. Today marked the 24th year since my mother passed away at the young age of 49. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about her. Makes me think of my own mortality being 50 years old and out of shape. You would think that I would be in perfect shape by now knowing what happened to her due to her bad health. Should would have been 72 today.

OBC Boot Camp 60 mins – “12 Pack” Band Workout:  Decided to take it up a level and use the blue bands (hardest) today. Much more difficult but I could really feel it in my arms. Practiced my breathing while running trying to keep a steady pace without having to stop.

IMG_3635Walked dogs – 35 mins, 1.19 miles. Found a dollar on the while out with the dogs. Gonna buy a lotto ticket with it. If you don’t hear back from me, I’m on a tropical island somewhere.

Bought a lottery ticket with the dollar I found on my walk with the dogs, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the winning ticket. Other than not winning the lottery, I had a pretty good day. Kept my calories in check even with the frozen pizza I had for dinner. Was planning on hiking Stone Mountain tomorrow during my lunch, but it seems that the weather will not cooperate. Since tomorrow is a boot camp off day, will have to find another way to get my workout in.

OBC Boot Camp, 60 mins – First day of boot camp today. Wasn’t sure how I would feel after yesterday’s hike, but decided to go anyway. Didn’t have the best times but was thrilled how well I did regardless. Click here to see my stats

Today was the first day back at boot camp this year. I went into it with the mindset of go big or go home. My attitude over the past few months hasn’t been where it needs to be. To be successful, I need to not just go through the motions of working out, I need to be committed and I haven’t been. I have work to do and need to quit screwing around!

Food wise, I did pretty well. I took in 1753 calories; more than my 1500 with workouts shouldn’t of had that Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich before bedtime.
